Today is the third anniversary of this Stage and Page blog. It was three years ago, on April 25, 2008, that I wrote my first blog post, on Germaine Greer and her biography of Ann Hathaway, titled Shakespeare’s Wife. One of the first events I covered on the blog was that year’s Blue Metropolis Festival.
It’s that time of year again. This year’s Blue Met runs Wednesday April 27 through Sunday, May 1, 2011. This year its roster of literary luminaries includes American icon Gore Vidal.
Also on a literary theme, at the Freestanding Room, 4324 St. Laurent Blvd. (3rd floor), a new play titled Book Club, by Ned Cox, all about women who are into group reads. Ellen David directs a talented cast that includes Paula Costain, Johanna Nutter, Paula Jean Hixon, and Alexandria Haber. For tickets call 514-759-4671.
